Why Bamboo?

Bamboo is a natural wonder material; its strong, light and as its a grass, it just keeps growing! For generations, people around the world have been using this natural resource for all sorts of products, ranging from clothing to buildings. We wanted to tap into this well of knowledge and expertise to bring it to the cycling realm.

Bamboo is a valuable plant in the fight against climate change: it releases up to 35% more oxygen than trees, is an efficient absorber of CO2 and naturally cools the air around it, as well as stabilising the soil reducing soil erosion.

Once it is harvested, the bamboo will regrow, and it's the fastest growing plant on the planet so there is no need for replanting.

Creating bike frames out of metal materials is very energy intensive and as a result, leaves a large carbon footprint for manufacturing. Using bamboo dramatically lessens this footprint and the impact creating your bike has on the planet.

With the frame finished in a plant based resin, you can be sure that from start to finish, Netham frames are made with people and planet in mind.

The best thing? No compromises!
The frames weigh in at around 2.5kg competitive to a lot of frames on the market. It produces a flex similar to steel and due to the air pockets in the bamboo, it has a natural vibration dampening effect, giving you the comfort you would expect from your bike.
